Zeal to Write

You know… there are days I feel like writing everything.

Thoughts just keep coming.Words flow easily.
And I feel this little excitement—like I should write it all down before it disappears.

And then… there are days when nothing comes.

Same me.
Same mind.

But no urge to write.

Earlier, I used to think I needed that feeling—that spark—to write.

Like, unless I feel it… what’s the point?

But now I’m not so sure.

Because if I keep waiting for that “perfect mood,”
I end up not writing at all.

And honestly, that feels worse.

So these days, I’m trying something different.

I just… start.

Even if it’s messy.
Even if I don’t know where it’s going.
Even if it sounds incomplete.

Some days it works.
Some days it doesn’t.

But at least I showed up.

And I’m realising this—

The zeal to write?
It comes and goes.

But if I keep showing up,
sometimes the words follow.

Quietly.

So maybe I don’t need to wait for it.

Maybe I just need to begin.

What about you?

Do you wait for the mood to write…
or do you just start anyway?

  1. Your post is thought provoking. There are days when no words surface and yet, if one keeps pushing, at least one has shown up, as you put it. I guess all writers go through these ups and downs!
