Chapter 1 — Even Arjuna Felt Lost

The stage is set. Both the Kauravas and Pandavas are settled on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, armies lined up, warriors prepared, strategies planned. Everything seems ready for the war that will change history.

Arjuna asks Krishna to drive his chariot to the middle of the battlefield so he can see all the soldiers on both sides. But what he sees shakes him to the core.

He sees his grandfather, his teachers, his cousins, his children, and even his grandchildren — the people he has loved and respected all his life. Suddenly, his hands shake. His mind clouds. His famous bow slips from his shoulders. Tears fill his eyes.

Turning to Krishna, he asks: “What is the point of fighting a war against my own people? Even if I win, how can it bring peace? I am confused and lost. Please guide me.”

This scene made me pause. Arjuna, the great warrior, trained for this battle all his life, felt doubt and fear. The war was meticulously planned, yet he was overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility and the thought of loss. And what did he do? He asked for help.

What this taught me

Even the strongest, most skilled, or prepared among us can feel lost. Confusion, fear, and doubt are part of life — and asking for help is not a weakness. In fact, it’s a step toward clarity and strength.

In today’s fast-paced world, we often feel anxious or unsure, thinking we must handle everything alone. But Chapter 1 reminds us that seeking guidance, pausing, and reflecting is not only okay — it’s necessary.

Arjuna’s honesty and vulnerability show us that strength is not the absence of fear, but the courage to face it and ask for support.

Next time you feel stuck or overwhelmed, remember: it’s okay to pause, breathe, and ask for help. Even Arjuna did.
